In five 50-minute classes at your workplace, you learn more than 60 different activities to release stress and tension in your body, calm and focus your mind, and reduce pain and discomfort from stress-induced headaches and indigestion. You learn how to relax your body, focus your mind, and quickly overcome fatigue.

What makes this Stress Management Program unique?

In each class, you learn at least:

  • 7 strengthening, energizing and stretching activities, drawn from yoga, tai chi and chi gong – targeting the tensest areas;

  • 3 do-it-yourself acupressure (acupuncture but with fingers) points to relieve pain, anxiety, fatigue and/or improve circulation;

  • 1 breathing technique to relieve stress and calm the mind;

  • 1 easy awareness, visualization or meditation exercise to focus the mind;

  • 3 of the 7 moving activities promote spinal flexibility.

Classes focus on where stress impacts you the most

For most of us, our bodies absorb and keep stress in the same places. Over time, we often forget what “relaxed” feels like. The curriculum is carefully structured and tested to help you to release areas of pain, tightness and tension.The topics are:

  1. Energizing the body and mind to fight the afternoon slump;
  2. Relieving stress-induced pain and discomfort in the back;
  3. Releasing tension in the neck, shoulders and face;
  4. Freeing the digestive system from stress;
  5. Releasing stress to improve sleep.

Overcomes common excuses for not exercising because:

  • No change of clothes required

  • No sweating

  • No equipment beyond a chair

  • No minimum flexibility or fitness levels necessary

  • No lying on the floor

  • No transportation or parking challenges

  • No anxiety about being late – classes end promptly at 5 minutes to the hour

Handouts to build your own stress relief toolbox

Since you will learn so much in a short time, you receive detailed notes on how to repeat a movement or breathing technique, find an acupressure point, and experience a “focused mind” activity. You also are reminded of the benefit of each one.
